Tehachapi Cement, LLC is seeking an experienced Labor Supervisor to oversee and coordinate plant operations during assigned shifts. This role involves supervising production activities, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and addressing production issues. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in industrial manufacturing, particularly in a cement or similar plant environment. Responsibilities: Shift Coverage: Provide coverage for time off for Production Shift Supervisors, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted plant operations. Issue Investigation: Investigate and identify production issues, make operational decisions, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Field Supervision: Provide field supervision and coordination during the shift, ensuring adherence to risk assessments, Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, and other safety measures. Quality Control: Ensure consistent production of cement, clinker, raw mix, and solid fuels within established quality guidelines. Take appropriate actions and communicate deviations effectively. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure plant equipment operates in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct process line inspections, complete regulatory forms, and address any defects. Communication: Communicate significant issues to relevant departments and the Production Coordinator. Address unexpected events promptly and effectively. Procedure Enforcement: Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company Policies to maintain operational standards. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate shift logs documenting all plant activities. Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with Company safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations. Conduct crew safety meetings and inspections to uphold a safe working environment. Administrative Duties: Administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement, including participating in disciplinary and grievance processes. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience: Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing. At least 4 years of experience in a cement or similar plant environment. 2 years of production labor, mechanic, or electrical experience and 2 years of Control Room Operator (CRO) experience. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of plant operations, including production processes and equipment maintenance. Experience as a production laborer or in a similar position is beneficial. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Safety and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, including MSHA/OSHA compliance. Ability to conduct safety meetings and enforce safety protocols. Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and other departments. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve production issues efficiently. Benefits: Compensation: Annual salary ranging from $95,000 to $110,000.
