Position SummaryThe Lead Software Engineer will work with an experienced team of software, firmware, and hardware engineers to lead the design and development of the Q‑SYS platform. Q‑SYS is a fast‑growing, award‑winning software and hardware platform built on cutting‑edge audio, video, and control products. This role provides technical leadership and architectural guidance while remaining hands‑on. This position is based in Boulder, CO (Hybrid).Job Requirements / QualificationsLead development of world‑class software within the professional audio, video, and control industryArchitect, develop, and optimize C++ application software on LinuxDesign, implement, and deploy embedded systems and firmware solutionsPartner with Software Quality Assurance to define test strategies and quality standardsCollaborate cross‑functionally to align technical solutions with product goalsPerform other duties as assignedEssential Functions / Core DutiesB.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent10+ years of experience in a professional software development environmentProven experience developing complex C++ applications on LinuxDeep expertise with modern C++ standards and their application to real‑world systemsStrong background in software architecture, system design, and design patternsEmbedded platform development experienceLead technical ownership of large, complex portions of the software stackProvide technical direction, code reviews, and mentorship to other engineersDrive architectural decisions and contribute to long‑term platform strategyHighly self‑directed with the ability to deliver results with minimal supervisionProficiency in several of the following areas:C++20 and modern C++ standardsNetwork Communication Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, IGMP, HTTPEncryption and computer security (plus)Real‑time embedded systemsHigh‑performance, distributed, or high‑availability systemsAdvanced multi‑threaded application designUnit testing (Python and Google Test a plus)Unity experience (plus)
