Barista

We're looking for hard-working, motivated baristas who share our love and enthusiasm for coffee. At Wildflour Cafe, we take pride in making delicious coffee for each and everyone of our guests, which includes regular old drip coffee as well as specialty espresso-based drinks. While experience is not required as we're willing to train the right candidate, a basic understanding of, or interest in, the world of coffee will be a major plus. Tasks will be varied and will grow over time, but starting responsibilities include: Making all drinks on our menu, from regular drip coffee and iced coffee to lattes and lemonades. This requires having a strong fundamental understanding of coffee as well as our menu. Keeping up with syrup and milk stocks and making more when needed following house recipes. Cleaning and maintaining the coffee stations Assisting with the register and front-area maintenance as needed. However, at Wildflour Cafe, we all wear many different hats. You'll be working side by side with the owners and expected to take part in the many different things that need to be done daily to keep this cafe up and running. We have fun while we work, but we're here to work. This job is best suited for individuals who like to move around and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with little downtime outside of breaks/meals. Full-time, fully-trained baristas will be paid a starting hourly wage of $15/hour plus tips. Regardless of experience, there is an initial training period where you will be paid $12/hour (untipped). Once you've completed this initial training period, which includes demonstrating mastery of our menu, you will become tip eligible. Your hourly rate will increase as you train and after you've demonstrated your ability to contribute to the cafe. but will be bumped up upon successful completion of our training program. Additional benefits include staff meals, holidays off (we close for the big ones) and paid time off.
