Senior UX Designer (Contract)OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior UX Designer to contribute to the design and delivery of innovative, large-scale digital products. This role requires a strong execution-focused designer with a proven ability to take complex products from concept to launch. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and have a deep understanding of design systems, spatial interfaces, and emerging technologies.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will bring:Extensive experience in senior-level UX design with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering products to marketStrong expertise in cartographic design, typography, and complex system-driven user experiencesAbility to independently drive design decisions while collaborating closely with Product and Engineering partnersExceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly articulate and defend design rationale to stakeholders and leadershipHigh adaptability and comfort working with modern AI tools and workflowsPreferred: Experience designing for mapping platforms, navigation systems, or mobility-related productsKey Responsibilities1. 3D Mapping & Navigation ExperienceCore UX Design: Lead the design, refinement, and overall experience of a 3D mapping interface, focusing on key user scenarios and high-impact use casesCross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product teams to identify necessary design adaptations and uncover data or experience gaps, particularly for walking and navigation journeysVisual Direction & Prototyping: Collaborate with visual designers to develop concepts for stakeholder review and build functional prototypes to validate design ideas with engineering teams2. Monetization & Feature PrototypingConcept Development & Prototyping: Work closely with product managers to define and visualize monetization concepts, creating interactive prototypes to test feasibility and performanceDesign System Development: Lead the creation and refinement of scalable design systems that support new features and monetization opportunitiesCross-team Alignment: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify design requirements and address data dependencies for features such as promoted content or location-based enhancements3. Project & Team SupportDesign Operations Support: Provide hands-on design support to increase team capacity and ensure consistent delivery across multiple workstreamsCollaboration & Continuity: Actively participate in design critiques, sprint planning, and stakeholder meetings to maintain alignment and momentumPoint of Contact: Serve as a reliable day-to-day design partner for cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and ResearchQuality Assurance: Conduct thorough design reviews, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency while offering actionable feedback to peers
