Position SummaryThe QA/QC Inspector plays a key role in ensuring that all construction activities for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects meet established quality benchmarks, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position involves performing field inspections, validating materials and workmanship, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality AssuranceFoster a proactive, teamwork-oriented quality culture where all personnel take responsibility for delivering successful project outcomes. Interact professionally with internal staff and external contractors.Review project drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturer guidelines to help develop inspection plans.Verify adherence to engineering designs, installation standards, and relevant codes (NFPA, NEC, IEEE, IEC).Participate in pre-construction meetings to align quality standards and expectations with contractors and suppliers.Quality ControlCarry out daily inspections of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical project work.Confirm proper installation of solar modules, racking, inverters, transformers, and BESS components.Record quality deficiencies, issue non-conformance reports, and coordinate corrective actions with on-site teams.Testing & Commissioning SupportObserve and validate testing procedures for electrical systems, grounding, insulation resistance, and system performance.Assist commissioning teams with developing punch lists and managing close-out items.Ensure accurate documentation of test results and final acceptance criteria.Reporting & DocumentationMaintain comprehensive inspection records, photographs, and quality reports.Manage material certifications, delivery documentation, and installation checklists.Provide consistent updates to project management and QA/QC leadership.QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.3–5 years of QA/QC experience in solar, electrical, or industrial construction environments.OSHA 10-hour certification required; OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.Working knowledge of utility-scale solar and energy storage systems.Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA, UL, ASTM, ISO, and other applicable standards.Relevant certifications (NABCEP, AWS, ICC) are advantageous.Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational abilities.Proven capability to multitask effectively and manage competing priorities; adaptable to changing schedules and site conditions.Highly self-sufficient, resourceful, and able to work independently with limited supervision.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Working ConditionsPrimarily field-based, with regular exposure to outdoor elements and active construction environments.May require extended hours or weekend work during peak construction periods.Strict adherence to safety standards and PPE requirements is mandatory.If you’d like to learn more about this opportunity please reach out to showard@leap29.com
