Position Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA implements individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional performance while ensuring safe and effective patient care.
This Per Diem position requires a consistent availability of 10–15 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Implement physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic interventions focused on mobility, strengthening, balance, gait training, and endurance
Instruct patients in safe mobility techniques, transfer training, and proper use of assistive devices
Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
Accurately document treatment sessions and patient progress in a timely manner
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized care planning
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment
Provide consistent per diem coverage, including availability for staff PTO, high census, weekends, or holidays
Qualifications
Current Florida license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Experience in skilled nursing or subacute rehab preferred (new graduates welcome)
Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Ability to maintain a consistent 10–15 hours per week commitment
