Reports To: Plant ManagerDepartment: OperationsFLSA Status: Full-Time ExemptLocation: Crowley and Fort Worth, TXJob SummaryThe Plant Master Scheduler is responsible for owning and controlling the end-to-end production schedule, from detail release through cutting, forming, fit-up, welding, finishing, and shipment.This role ensures balanced work in progress, constraint-driven scheduling, and on-time shipment by aligning and optimizing plant capacity with customer demand. The Master Scheduler serves as the primary control point between Sales commitments and shop floor execution and is accountable for maintaining a realistic, executable, and enforced production plan.This is a hands-on production control role that requires active decision-making, prioritization, and enforcement of schedule discipline across all departments.This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and supports alignment with the S&OP Manager through a dotted-line reporting relationship.Responsibilities:Maintain production schedule integrity.Sequence work to support efficient production flow and on-time delivery.Communicate production schedules and schedule changes across departments.Identify and manage capacity constraints impacting production flow.Analyze production schedules and identify overload conditions, schedule conflicts, production risks, and capacity limitations.Develop, maintain, and adjust detailed production schedules based on operational constraints, labor availability, machine availability, and material readiness.Communicate effectively with Plant Managers, Operations leadership, Supervisors, Project Planning, Purchasing, and production personnel.Manage multiple priorities and changing operational demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Challenge unrealistic schedules or priorities using operational data and production capacity information.Maintain strong attention to detail and follow-through in schedule maintenance and change tracking.Minimum Job requirements:High school diploma or GED required.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.Minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing scheduling, production planning, fabrication operations, or a related manufacturing environment.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:Experience in production scheduling, production planning, or manufacturing coordination required.Strong understanding of workflow sequencing, capacity planning, load balancing, bottleneck management, labor and equipment constraints, and material readiness impacts on production flow.Experience in fabrication, structural steel, heavy manufacturing, welding, machining, or plate processing environments preferred.Experience with ERP/MRP systems required; Syspro experience preferred.Experience with Power BI, SQL, scheduling dashboards, or capacity modeling tools preferred.Familiarity with utility pole manufacturing and related processes such as welding, fit-up, press brake, and burn/drill operations preferred.Conditions of Employment:Successful candidate must submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check.Working ConditionsWork involves moderate to heavy exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.Moderate to heavy physical activity. Requires standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.Work environment involves exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require strict understanding and adherence to safety precautions.
