We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.Job SummaryThe Trailer Service Technician will service and maintain our fleet trailers that are operated on a daily basis.Hours and WagesMonday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM10-15 hours of overtime expected each weekPaid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week$20.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experienceDuties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to inspect trailers for complianceAbility to service ABS brakesKnowledge of drum and disc brake systems is preferredKnowledge of trailer wiring, lighting, greasing, brakes, and lift gate is preferredGeneral maintenance on fleet trailersPerform other related duties as assignedSkills and Abilities* Welding and torch experience is a plus but not required* Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle or be willing to learnEducation and ExperienceAt least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred2 years technical instruction in diesel or auto mechanics is preferredMust hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR be willing to successfully complete Company paid CDL training programPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 75 poundsAbility to pass a DOT physical examMust be able to spend a minimum of eight hours on feetWork environment involves ability to bend, kneel, crouch, walk, and driveWork environment may involve hazards such as diesel exhaust, brake dust, grease, antifreeze, and other elements associated with vehicle repairBenefits* Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.EEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
