Production Manager

Comp: Base $120K-$140K with bonus (dependent upon experience)OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead plant operations at our chemical manufacturing facility near Vineland, NJ. This role is responsible for Production and Tank Farm operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing while meeting customer demand and driving continuous improvement.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong chemical plant experience, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT, PSM), & a track record of building high-performing teams.What You'll DoOperations & ProductionLead daily plant operations, including Production and Tank Farm activitiesOversee packaging operations for storage and shipmentCoordinate production requirements for Refrigerants, Oils, and GlycolsManage scheduling, inventory control, and raw material supplyEnsure workforce coverage across all shiftsDrive equipment reliability and preventive maintenance programsSafety & ComplianceEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Process Safety Management (PSM)Promote a strong safety culture and environmental stewardshipOversee hazardous materials handling and documentationPartner with Quality Assurance and EH&S on audits and compliance initiativesPerformance & Continuous ImprovementMonitor KPIs and drive operational performanceLead Lean, Six Sigma, and sustainability initiativesIdentify and implement process improvementsManage budgets and control operational costsLeadershipLead, coach, and develop supervisors, operators, and techniciansSupport hiring, training, performance management, and employee developmentFoster accountability, teamwork, and operational excellenceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field5+ years of chemical manufacturing experience3+ years in a supervisory or management roleStrong knowledge of batch and/or continuous processingExperience with EH&S programs and hazardous materialsFamiliarity with ERP and manufacturing systemsProven leadership in a safety-critical environmentPreferred CertificationsSix Sigma Green or Black BeltLean Manufacturing CertificationOSHA 30-Hour CertificationDOT Hazardous Materials TrainingWork EnvironmentManufacturing plant setting with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and hazardous materials, including compressed gases. Moderate noise levels.
