Monona Catering, the exclusive full-service catering company at the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, is interested in discussing potential employment opportunities with you. Monona Catering offers catering services for groups of sizes ranging from 2 to 2000 or more, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. Our philosophy is centered around providing exceptional experiences for all guests at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center.Lead cooks are expected to have a thorough understanding of all kitchen equipment and how to use it safely. They will also train other cooks to operate this equipment properly.- They will assist in plating dishes to ensure the best presentation and quality for our customers.- The Lead Cook will help organize the timing for the preparation and delivery of hot and cold food throughout the building, ensuring that events start on time.- Lead Cooks must be skilled in preparing all items on the cold side of the menu, as well as hot items, which include stocks, soups, and sauces.- They may supervise cooks, assistants, and stewards when necessary.- Our operation requires kitchen staff to be flexible in their job duties. Cooks will plate salads and entrees, make sauces, carve in front of guests, create buffet trays, maintain neat work areas, and assist the Executive Chef and Culinary Managers in producing high-quality food while ensuring a clean and sanitary environment.- They will also help the Executive Chef, Culinary Managers, and Purchasing Staff with menu development.- Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining and organizing walk-in refrigeration storage, properly identifying and dating all prepared foods.Monona Catering is a Union workplace. Benefits are available after 60 days of employment, provided you average 30 hours per week. These benefits include health insurance, dental coverage, short-term disability, and a 401(k) plan.Wages will be determined based on your experience.The building is closed on all major holidays, so you will have those days off.
