Material Handler

Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Bloomfield, CT, for a 12-month onsite assignment. This role involves manual labor tasks, including the movement of stock and freight, and is compensated at $21 per hour. The standard schedule for this position is 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM EST. Core Responsibilities Label containers with necessary identification or mark them clearly for tracking. Review work orders or listen to verbal instructions to clarify task requirements and equipment needs. Track the volume of units processed by updating daily production logs or work tickets. Transport stock and freight between storage, production zones, and loading areas to ensure efficient workflow. Organize cargo systematically prior to the loading or unloading process. Construct shipping crates and product containers utilizing hand tools and pre-cut materials. Operate hoisting equipment and winches to safely load and unload cargo. Manage the packing of containers and perform necessary re-packing for damaged units. Retrieve required supplies and tools from storage, ensuring they are returned properly after task completion. Required Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills paired with effective analytical problem-solving capabilities. Collaborative mindset with a keen eye for detail. Understanding of safety policies and equipment protocols to help maintain a secure environment for personnel and property. Qualifications High school diploma or GED is mandatory. One to three years of relevant professional experience. Technical Requirements Capacity to lift up to 30 pounds. Proficiency with computer systems. Experience working with Microsoft Excel or comparable software applications. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with data entry tasks.
