Description:PLEASE READ:If the candidate has a CDL license they should be submitted at a Pay Rate of $11.00 and a Bill Rate of $15.70If the candidate does not have a CDL license they should be submitted at a Pay Rate of $10.00 per hour and a Bill Rate of $14.27++nice to have mechanical and electrical experienceRequirements:Summary:O&M Technician I is responsible for performing various general labor activities that include the operation & maintenance of various equipment at different facilities. Must have the ability to operate air compressor and pneumatic equipment. Ensures mechanical readiness of plant equipment and processes through the proper development and implementation of maintenance procedures.Dimensions:IntermediateEducation/Equivalent:1-3 years Vocational education in related field preferred.High school diploma or equivalent requiredA combination of education and on-the-job skills in the right environment may be considered or equivalent experience related to water/wastewater operation and maintenance or related fields.Work Experience Needed:1-5 years maintenance experience, with increasing responsibility, in a water and/or wastewater treatment industry.Ability to operate heavy equipment, boom truck, operates power equipment, compressor, and electric generators.Thorough knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facilities and operations.Special Skills/Abilities Needed:Must have valid Mississippi driver's license (CDL preferred)Good working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.Performs regular checks of equipment conditions, noting deficiencies and following maintenance procedures. Notifies supervisor of needed maintenance.Ability to read technical material, blueprints (understands symbols)/.Knowledge of codes, safety devices and procedures.Physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and squatting, crawling, sitting, occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.Must be able to work in confined spaces.Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of hazardous material handling, storage and usage.Communicate effectively written and oral methods with co-workers, supervisor, managers, and others when necessary.Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities:Other duties as needed and as assignedCarries out the position responsibilities in accordance with OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.Essential Functions:Physical Demands.
