The Director of IT and Infrastructure is a strategic and hands-on technology leader responsible for driving agility, scalability, and resilience across enterprise and production environments. This role oversees the infrastructure that powers both internal IT systems and customer-facing production applications ensuring the environment supports fast-moving engineering workflows, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), and secure, high-availability operations.
Reporting to the Head of IT and Cybersecurity, this position partners closely with Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Cloud Operations to modernize the company's hybrid infrastructure, optimize automation pipelines, and enable faster innovation cycles without compromising reliability or compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Operations Leadership
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of on-premise, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise systems and production workloads
Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all core infrastructure services including compute, storage, networking, and cloud environments
Oversee production operations with a focus on observability, scalability, and proactive incident management
Agility and CI/CD Enablement
Drive adoption of DevOps and Agile practices across IT and infrastructure teams to accelerate release cycles and reduce deployment friction
Partner with engineering and product teams to enable CI/CD pipelines, environment provisioning, and automated testing frameworks
Establish infrastructure-as-code and configuration management standards (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent) to ensure consistency and repeatability
Collaboration with Engineering
Serve as a bridge between IT and software engineering teams, ensuring infrastructure decisions directly support developer velocity and reliability of production systems
Partner with Engineering leadership to align infrastructure roadmaps with product delivery timelines and technology evolution
Advocate for operational excellence by embedding observability, performance tuning, and postmortem culture into the engineering process
Strategic Planning and Governance
Define and execute a multi-year infrastructure modernization roadmap that enables agility, automation, and cost optimization across data centers and cloud platforms
Manage infrastructure lifecycle planning-including capacity, patching, upgrades, and end-of-life management
Ensure compliance with security, audit, and operational standards in coordination with the Information Security team
Team and Vendor Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of system engineers, cloud administrators, and IT operations specialists
Foster a culture of ownership, speed, and continuous improvement within the infrastructure team
Manage relationships with key technology vendors, service providers, and support partners to ensure value alignment and operational excellence
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's preferred
10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or operations roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity
Proven experience building and supporting CI/CD environments in hybrid or multi-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Strong technical background in Linux/Windows systems, networking, cloud platforms, and automation frameworks
Hands-on understanding of infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana), and DevOps toolchains (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD)
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional technical teams in fast-paced engineering or SaaS environments
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; able to translate technical issues into business outcomes
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting production customer-facing environments in SaaS, networking, or high-availability domains
Prior background working closely with software engineering and SRE teams to improve agility and reliability
Knowledge of security frameworks, ITIL principles, and automation-first operations
Familiarity with FinOps or cloud cost management practices
Experience managing remote teams

LI-AN1 - Hybrid
Targeted compensation guideline: $190,000 - $230,000. Compensation will vary based on number of factors, including market demand for specific skills, role type, job level, and individual qualifications. Final salary offers are determined by considerations including, but not limited to, subject matter expertise, demonstrated skill level, relevant experience, geographic location, education, certifications, and training.
