Job Summary/Overview
The Server provides food and beverage service to residents and guests. Interacts closely with the residents, guests, and others, providing quality service which enhances the customers’ experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor
Assist in seating guests and providing them with menus
Demonstrates strong knowledge of food and drink menu items, including key ingredients and allergens and can clearly communicate that knowledge to guests when inquiries arise.
Demonstrate sales skills by promoting any specials or LTO items
Fill glasses with ice water and answer any questions regarding the menu, including allergies or special requests
Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and enter them into the POS system, provide notice of any special modifications or allergies.
Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all of the table’s orders are prepared and delivered on time and together.
Assembles food on tray; procures items from each station as necessary
Serves a meal; places dishes by courses in front of each person; serves from the left of the person
Removes soiled dishes
Suggests and serves dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks
Verifies accuracy of process, state and federal taxes, tips, and/or other charges when presenting bills to guests
Handles all cash, credit cards as prescribed by standard operating procedures
Keeps assigned tables, dining room, and bus station clean and tidy
Ensures guest satisfaction before departure and advises supervisor of complaints as they occur
Performs clean-up, side-work and closing duties as assigned by the manager
Participate in pre-shift meetings and training sessions as required
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)
Education and Experience:
High Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in a restaurant or customer service role is preferred but not required
Technical Requirements:
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effectively present information to management, customers, and staff.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Strong multitasking and time management abilities
Ability to work under pressure while complying with all relevant legislation.
Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including dietary restrictions and allergies
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Critical thinking skills
Basic math skills for handling payments and calculating tips
Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
