MRI TechnologistPart Time - Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 8 hour days with call requiredEducation:Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology program in good standing with the ARRT.Licensure / Certification:Registered Radiology Technologist. Registry in MRI preferred.Duties and Responsibilities:Performance of Daily QC functions with Water PhantomDemonstrates ability to perform power-up of computer console.Loads appropriate coil for use with water phantom and initiates appropriate computer programming for QC.Logs results of QC data in appropriate format.Assessment of Scheduled PatientsChecks two patient identifiers for proper identification prior to exam.Observes all safety guidelines for MRI prior to exam.Presents to patient for completion the questionnaire/Med Reconciliation Sheet regarding study to be performed, which indicate symptoms and/or contraindications including but not limited to metallic implants.Insures that procedure is explained fully in order to put patient at ease with study being performed.Obtains completed consent form for all contrast studies that explain documented problems with usage of contrast with certain related health problems.Performs I-stat for BUN/Creatinine per protocol.Performs necessary steps toward completion of study of claustrophobic patients to include when necessary contacting appropriate physician for alternative study or administration of drugs to relax anxious patients.Remains aware of patient status via visual and audio contact throughout MRI study.Surveys patient for safety with MRI magnet.Operates power injector properly for contrasted exams.Removes contrast from Omnicell properly using two patient identifiers prior to administration.Verifies images to PACS for Radiologist dictation.Assists physician with biopsy procedures in MRIChecks two patient identifiers for proper identification prior to procedure.Utilizes "time out" procedure.Obtains questionnaires and reviews prior to exam.Verifies H&P assessment with attending physician.Obtains consent for contrast.Demonstrates ability to dock breast table to magnet and position correctly.Demonstrates ability to operate SenoRad breast biopsy equipment.Maintains sterile procedure during exam.Obtains preliminary images prior to biopsy for needle localization.Obtains specimen from physician and labels appropriately and accurately.Obtains post procedure images to verify biopsy removal.Sends specimen to Lab for clinical correlation.Utilizes CAD for procedure.Verifies images to PACS, CAD and Aegis PACS server for interpretation.Cleans and disinfects equipment appropriately following procedure.Maintains supplies and notifies as appropriate if supplies are neededProfessional Requirements:Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.Complete annual education requirements.Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.Report to work on time and as scheduled.Wear identification while on duty.Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.Attend regular staff meetings and in-services as needed.Physical Requirements:Must have the cognitive ability to perform in this role.Critical and executive level thinking is requiredMust have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyHave near normal hearing able to hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice/webinarsHave near normal vision clarity of vision (both near and far) either corrected on non-corrected, ability to distinguish colorsHave good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordinationStanding continuously within the shift (67-100%)Walking continuously within the shift (67-100%)Climbing occasionally within the shift (1-33%)Bending/stooping frequently within the shift (34-66%)Twist at the waist occasionally with the shift (1-33%)Pushing/pulling 50+lbs without assistance frequently within the shift (34-66%)Pushing/pulling 100+lbs with assistance frequently within the shift (34-66%)Lift/carry 20+lbs without assistance occasionally within the shift (1-33%)Reaching above the shoulders frequently within the shift (34-67%)Lift/carry 50+lbs with assistance occasionally within the shift (1-33%)Stephens County Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
