Middle School Intervention Specialist (Grades 5–8)We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Middle School Intervention Specialist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs while fostering an inclusive, structured, and engaging classroom environment. This position carries a caseload of approximately 14–17 students.Position SummaryThe Middle School Intervention Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing individualized educational programming for students with disabilities in accordance with IEP goals and state standards. The specialist will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student growth academically, socially, and behaviorally.Essential ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students on caseloadProvide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and executive functioning skillsDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and learning stylesCollaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectivelyMaintain accurate and timely documentation related to IEPs, progress monitoring, evaluations, and compliance requirementsConduct progress monitoring and use data to drive instructional decisionsFoster positive relationships with students, families, and staffParticipate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunitiesSupport students in inclusion, resource room, and/or small-group instructional settingsImplement behavior intervention plans and classroom management strategies as neededEnsure compliance with state and federal special education regulationsQualificationsValid state licensure/certification as an Intervention Specialist or Special Education TeacherExperience working with middle school students preferredKnowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practicesStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students and familiesExperience with progress monitoring tools and data-driven instruction preferredPreferred SkillsExperience supporting students with varying academic and behavioral needsFamiliarity with inclusion/co-teaching modelsStrong classroom management and behavior support strategiesAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamWork EnvironmentCaseload of approximately 14–17 studentsSupportive team environment with opportunities for collaboration and professional growthMiddle school setting focused on academic achievement and student developmentBenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and educationHealth, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement benefitsProfessional development opportunitiesSupportive administrative and special education teamTo apply, please submit your resume, cover letter, and applicable licensure/certification.
