This is a hybrid role and will require on-site work at client locations within San Francisco Bay Area, CA. The Project Manager has overall responsibility for planning and executing the project, working closely with PMO Director for guidance, and leveraging and coaching the Senior Consultant(s) and the team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as the project owner. Manage the project according to Project Management Professional (PMP) principles, as applicable. Leverage resources and delegate where possible through the following areas of work:Pre-Award:InitiatingIdentify opportunities through good client management/consulting skillsLead/assist with conflict checkingLead/participate in client needs assessmentCreate high-level project summary and deliverables listPlanningConsider risks and develop contingency plansIdentify prospective team; screen vendorsPost-Award:Planning (continued)Ensure key administrative tasks are completed (mat code, network set-up, etc)Finalize key project team members and vendors; define team roles and responsibilitiesWork with stakeholders to elicit more detailed requirements (e.g. what they want)Define deliverable templates as needed (e.g. what exactly is to be delivered)Define/elaborate work-plan (e.g. how it will be delivered)Provide guidance/approval on process and specifications documents (e.g. data file formats, coding manuals, training documents, quality checklists, etc.) and ensure they are integrated into overall project documentationDefine and create supporting project management tools and work such as:Stakeholder Summary, Budget versus Actual (BVA) Report, High-level Schedule, Status Reports, Issue/Decision Logs, Data/Document Tracking LogsExecutingConduct project kickoffManage work according to planMeet with team weekly; provide background/updates; ensure good moraleMeet with client weekly or bi-weeklyEnsure project documentation is maintained in a timely mannerMonitor and ControlEnsure accurate and timely time entry, monitor chargeability, and take responsibility for periods of downtimeEnsure timely and accurate billingOwn status reports: apprise clients of issues which may impact scope, schedule, or budgetDocument issues in weekly status reportReport on budget and schedule variances at regular intervals (at least monthly)Review WIP in Juris and document project write-downs on monthly basisEnsure project deliverables are both error-free and meet expectationsManage additional scope through change order processClose/TransitionDeliver or transition final productObtain informal client feedbackDocument project summary and lessons learnedClose out resources and archive documentationQualifications, Required Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
