NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Submerged Arc Seam Welder 1 to join our Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) team. The Submerged Arc Seam Welder 1 is responsible for the set-up and operation of a submerged arc seam welding machine to place a continuous weld on one or two sides of pole shafts.Job Title: Submerged Arc Seam Welder 1Location: Winsted, MNSalary Range: $22.95 - 27.00 per hour (Non-Exempt)(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday - Thursday 5am - 3pm or 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1am or Weekend shift Friday - Sunday 5am - 5pmShift Differential: 1st shift - N/A, 2nd shift - $1.50/hour, Weekend shift - $2.50/hourAs a Submerged Arc Seam Welder 1, you will:Fuse (weld) Stainless metal pole shafts together by means of Submerged Arc Welding process in the fabrication of steel polesPerforms welding operations requiring most of the following:Working from prints and drawings or other specificationsRequires a knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metalsSetting up work and determining operation sequencesWelding objects involving critical safety and load requirementsSetup, operate, and perform general maintenance of equipmentMake mathematical calculations in preparing product or setting up the machineryUse hand tools and measuring devices in the performance of workMove pole shafts using an overhead craneMonitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequenceEnter job data in production tracking systemMust be AWS SAW certified within 90 daysWeld quality from this operator consistently pass NDT examinationEscalates equipment or quality issuesRole Qualifications as a Submerged Arc Seam Welder 1:Experience with Stainless Steel TIG weldingSuccessful completion of AWS certified SAW within 90 daysPrefer graduation from an accredited trade school for weldingAbility to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork in EnglishProficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbolsWorking knowledge of weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)Knowledge of welding properties of a variety of metalsAbility to perform basic shop math functionsAbility to set up work and determine operation sequenceAbility to recognize and solve practical problems or issuesAbility to work in a team environment with a diverse group of peopleJoin Millerbernd Manufacturing - Where Your Career Can Take ShapeAbout Us: At Millerbernd, we don't just offer jobs-we build careers.
