Chicago, IL | Manufacturing Operations | $70,000 - $75,000 Base Salary + Benefits
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading from the floor, improving processes, and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, sanitation, and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and supervise production employees across daily operations
Develop employee schedules and staffing plans to meet production demands
Conduct training on job functions, GMPs, safety protocols, and company policies
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Address employee concerns and performance issues in a timely manner
Provide coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary guidance as needed
Production Operations
Oversee production processes from mixing through packaging to ensure efficiency and quality
Monitor equipment settings and operational performance
Ensure compliance with production standards during:
Mixing
Fermentation
Dividing
Molding
Proofing
Baking
Slicing
Packaging
Product Coding
Coordinate material availability to support production schedules
Work closely with maintenance, quality, sanitation, and warehouse teams to achieve operational goals
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to GMP, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards
Verify completion and accuracy of process control and quality documentation
Report equipment, maintenance, and sanitation issues promptly
Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety requirements
Continuous Improvement
Drive operational improvements that increase productivity and reduce waste
Analyze production metrics, downtime, and quality trends
Generate reports and communicate performance results to leadership
Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and team effectiveness
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience
At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Management, Operations, Business, or related field
Food manufacturing or bakery production experience
Experience working in GMP-regulated environments
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain on your feet throughout the shift
Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, climb, and perform physical production-floor activities
Comfortable working in warm manufacturing environments
Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed

Base Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 annually
