OTR Breakdown Coordinator

Position Overview We are looking for a decisive and technical OTR Breakdown Coordinator to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be the first line of defense for our drivers, troubleshooting issues over the phone and managing repairs to minimize downtime. You will act as the bridge between drivers, repair vendors, and operations. Key Responsibilities Triage & Troubleshooting: Field inbound calls from drivers, assessing mechanical issues to determine if a road call is necessary or if the unit can limp to a shop. Vendor Management: Locate and route drivers to authorized repair facilities; negotiate repair times and costs to ensure efficiency. Communication: Provide real-time updates to Operations regarding service interruptions so load planning can be adjusted immediately. Warranty Capture: Review vehicle history during breakdown events to identify warrantable repairs and file claims with OEMs to recover costs. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all breakdown events, downtime, and repair costs in our maintenance system. Qualifications Technical Knowledge: Technical school certification or previous experience with diesel engine components/trailers is highly preferred. Problem Solving: Ability to make quick, cost-effective decisions in a high-pressure environment. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; must be able to de-escalate stressed drivers and negotiate with vendors. Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance software; ability to type and document while on the phone. Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
