Our Abilene TX location is looking for Belly Dump Drivers (CDL Required) to join the team! Key Responsibilities Safe Operation: Driving heavy-duty tractor-trailers on public highways, off-road construction sites, and through varied terrain. Material Spreading (Windrowing): Operating bottom-gate controls with precision to spread aggregate materials evenly for paving or road construction. Loading & Transport: Transporting bulk materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, and asphalt to and from job sites. Inspections: Conducting mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, checking fluids, tires, lights, and brakes in compliance with DOT guidelines. Maintenance: Performing minor equipment servicing, cleaning the truck cab and trailer, and reporting major mechanical issues to supervisors. Documentation: Maintaining accurate driver logs, mileage records, and scale tickets for billing and compliance. Core Qualifications Licensing: A valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required. Medical Certification: A current DOT Medical Card following a physical exam. Experience: 2-3 years of heavy-duty truck driving experience preferred. Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods, climb in and out of the cab frequently, and lift 50100 lbs occasionally for tasks like tarping or minor repairs. Typical Work Environment Industry: Primarily construction. Conditions: Drivers work outdoors in all weather conditions and are often exposed to dust, noise, and fumes. Schedule: Often involves early morning starts, overtime, and occasional weekend or night shifts depending on project deadlines.
