Senior Cost Accountant

Position/Title: Sr. Cost Accountant Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt Benefits: 1st of month following 60 –days: Medical, Dental, Vision, AFLAC optional coverage, and 1st month following 90 days- 401K with 4% company match Employment Type: Full-time onsite Department: Finance Work Location: In-person/On-site 11744 Blue Bell Road, Elberfeld, IN 47613 General Purpose: The Sr. Cost Accountant will have the primary responsibility within the organization for performing advanced cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports. The role will be responsible for reviewing services and goods; record data and make recommendations about cost-efficient and financially feasible cost options. Responsible for periodic maintenance and updating costs in the ERP system. Company Description: Fibertech Plastics is a manufacturer of custom-engineered plastic products such as bulk containers, plastic pallets, and plastic lockers. These products are FDA and USDA compliant and can be used in a variety of industries including automotive, food, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and general industries. Job Duties: (duties include, but are not limited to, the following) Gathers and compiles cost information and maintains database concerning expenses. Predicts, plans, and records variable costs such as purchases of raw material, labor, and operation costs. Reviews and analyzes actual costs to identify inaccuracies. Prepares necessary departmental and company-wide budgeting reports. Reviews, analyzes, and reports actual profit margins. Performs month-end and year-end closings with assistance. Determines and recommends cost-effective solutions. Provide value estimating to support the commercial and business development process. Maintains production and quoting rates in ERP system and updates as necessary. Provides product sample costs for general accounting. Performs other related duties as assigned. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail. Ability to manage confidential information. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. 5-7 years’ experience is preferred. At least two years of experience in cost accounting required. CPA or CMA certifications preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred. Epicor ERP experience preferred. Physical Demands: Must have the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time including prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
