work in a liaison role with the building principal, the academic services department, and student support services department to support student attendance, behavior, and course performance outcomesQualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor's DegreeValid Texas Teaching CertificateMaster's Degree (Preferred)Elementary: ESL Certification is required for pre-k and elementary teachers. *This requirement does not include elementary art, music and physical education teachersSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of curriculum and instructionKnowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) including the components of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and Response to Intervention (RtI)Knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations for the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1978, Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment of 2008, and the Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973Knowledge of state and local rules and regulations for Accelerated InstructionStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to analyze, interpret, and use student data for decision makingAbility to plan, monitor, and evaluate outcomes of targeted interventions and accommodations for studentsExperience:Three years of teaching experience in an elementary, middle, and/or high school (preferred)Experience in a team leader/department head role (preferred)Major Responsibilities and Duties:504 Responsibilities:Develop Section 504 plans in compliance with the lawFacilitate and conduct Section 504 meetings, to include: initial evaluations for Section 504 referrals, re-evaluations, manifestation determination reviewsCommunicate with campus personnel about students' Section 504 plans and individual needsMonitor the implementation of Section 504 plans on the campus to ensure compliance and monitoring the progress in attendance, behavior, and course performance of students receiving Section 504 ServicesServe as a Section 504 resource, advisor, and liaison for the campus, as well as the primary point of contact for parents in regards to Section 504 implementation concerns and/or questionsServe as the MTSS Facilitator for Section 504 StudentsServe as the College Board Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) coordinator in conjunction with the Counseling Department (secondary)Accelerated Instruction Responsibilities:Verify PEIMS coding accuracy BOY, MOY, EOY & anytime a student withdraws or enrollsFacilitate progress monitoring meetings with campus teamsFacilitate conversations with campus teams on materials and resources that will be used during Accelerated InstructionSet a training timeline and attendance verification process for staff members who are providing Accelerated InstructionMonitor parent waivers for small group and Accelerated InstructionMTSS Responsibilities:Ensure campus Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and the components of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and Response to Intervention (RtI) align with the district's process and procedures of MTSS implementation.Provide student support indirectly, directly, and/or monitor implementation of Student Support Plans,coordinate Student Support Team referrals with the appropriate MTSS FacilitatorServe as a MTSS resource, advisor, and liaison for the campus leadership team in the development of campus MTSS systemsEnsure that all relevant campus personnel are appropriately trained in development of Student Support Plans, progress monitoring Student Support Plans and goals associated with the plansSupport classroom teachers in data analysis and progress monitoringEnsure new students participate in district diagnostic assessments such as MAP, CogAT, etc. within 14 days of enrollment (if applicable)Serve as campus liaison for students receiving Hospital/Homebound servicesConduct formal and informal campus meetings regarding curricular programs and interventionGeneral Responsibilities:Attend professional learning that applies to each area of responsibilityConduct formal and informal campus meetings regarding curricular programs and interventionMaintain a positive and effective relationship with campus administrators, staff, and district personnelDemonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible, serve as a role model for all district staffFollow all rules, regulations, and policies of Plano ISD and follow directives from superiorsFollow attendance policy as assigned by supervisorPerform other functions that may be assigned by the administration and/or supervisorMaintain a high degree of confidentiality within and outside the school district and work collegially with all staff membersEquipment Used:Computer, printer, copier, fax, and telephoneWorking Conditions:Mental Demands:Communicate effectively (verbal and written);
