Deburr Technician II or III
Job Summary:
Responsible for deburring and polishing machines parts. Inspect products and report any defects.
Job Responsibilities:
· Measure and examine, completed parts, detect defects, and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
· Work directly with supervisor and management representatives.
· Follow documented instructions.
· Knowledge with hand tools and measuring instruments.
· Read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
· Meet production rate requirements while maintaining workmanship standards.
· Able to work under a microscope for extended periods daily.
· Perform 100% visual inspections on all parts processed.
· Report defective parts as scrap and report excessive scrap issues to immediate manager.
· Effectively operate finishing equipment, safely and efficiently.
· Follow all applicable environmental, health and safety rules and procedures and immediately report all dangerous situations, near-misses, and injuries.
· Operate and maintain detail and cleaning equipment.
· Other assignments as required.
Competencies Required:
· High attention to detail.
· At least 3 – 5 years of experience finishing production parts.
· Experience detailing production parts.
· Ability to use hand and power tools.
· Comprehension of metal surface finishes.
· Ability to identify different burr types.
· Ability to learn and apply advanced technical concepts.
· Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork.
· Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed.
· Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required.
· Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and manufacturing work instructions.
· May be required to perform basic inspection requirements to verify dimensional and visual compliance to customer drawings, using gage pins, thread gages, micrometer, microscope & etc.
· Ability to use or learn to use a computer to look up documents, request assistance from other departments, and enter production information.
· Self motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
· Ability to carry/lift up to 35 lbs. (50% of the time).
· Must have ability to stand, kneel, squat, stoop, use fingers and hands to feel, lift or handle tools, parts and equipment.
· Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity.
Education Required:
High School diploma/GED or equivalent
Language Required:
English
