Dental Assistant

Bilingual English/Spanish Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement: Florida DentalRadiology Certificate FL Dental Expanded Duty Certificate FL driver’s license Current/active CPR certificate Duties/Responsibilities: Specific duties include: Dental treatment -Expanded duties as licensed by the board of professional regulations for certified dental assistant -Will polish clinical crowns of teeth -Will apply topical fluoride gels and varnish -Will place temporary restorations and sealants -Will remove sutures -Will fabricate temporary crowns, pack cord andcement temporary crowns Four handed dental technique -Will review medical history with thepatient/guardian and take blood pressure -Will complete the signs and symptoms andobjective data of the SOAP notes and write up in the computer notes -Will use proper barrier techniques -Wll pass instruments while correctlyretracting tongue and/or cheek and while suctioning -Will coordinate assisting methods, activitiesand actions with dentist’s actions -Will adjust equipment and light source asneeded by dentist -Will mix restorative materials and cements Proper operatory setup -Will ensure instruments and equipment are outand in place before patient arrives - - Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds Radiographs - Will maintain radiographic certification as licensed by the Board of Professional Regulations - Will use ScanX phosphoric plates and EagleSoft software Sterilization - Will properly clean and sterilize instruments following dental clinic procedures - Will clean autoclave and clean and disinfect counters and environmental surfaces Other duties as assigned Job Type: Contract Pay: Up to $21.31 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday Experience: Dental assisting: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: X-Ray Certification (Preferred) Ability to Commute: Ocala, FL 34475 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Ocala, FL 34475: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
