Summary About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Learn more about this agency Duties Help Assist in negotiations with contractors dealing with time, price, and technical adjustments to contracts.Arrange site visit reports used to keep the organization informed of progress with project construction.Enforce safety program requirements in day-to-day construction inspection activities.Oversee construction methods to ensure contractor's work complies with contract requirements.Ensure adherence to safety program for safety practices required by construction codes. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.This position requires a successfully completion of the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months in the position.Position may be converted to permanent without further competition.Temporary promotion may be made permanent or extended up to a maximum of five years.Time Limited Detail NTE may be made permanent or extended at management discretion.Temporary appointments may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years.This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
