Dynamics Technician III

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform tests and/or measurement tasks for the Dynamics department. Dynamics: The branch of mechanics that deals with motion of systems under action of forces usually from outside the system. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Test Setup - Read specifications from technical documents (Test Standards, Customer SOWs, and Test Plans/Procedures), identify/prepare test equipment Perform Testing - Monitor tests per specifications, interact with customers if needed, troubleshoot, and document all pertinent data Data Processing - After test completion, verify, review and document all pertinent data. Finalize data and send to the Program Manager Lab Maintenance / Post-Test Breakdown - Physically remove test items. Maintain lab by cleaning all equipment, keeping calibrated instruments current, & organizing supplies Other - Perform other duties as assigned CORE REQUIREMENTS: With limited supervision; completes advanced technical and mechanical procedures, performs assignments that are not standardized or prescribed, regularly interacts with clients, troubleshoots and reworks complex tests. Advanced interpretation and analysis of test results; regularly called upon to provide input on test results Advanced knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical & Dynamics principles, comprehensive knowledge of all potential aspects of safety; good understanding of AC/DC circuits Able to use all standard and complex Dynamics equipment; able to accurately capture necessary data Basic MS Office skills. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: HS Diploma or GED; AA or AS OR trade school for ballistics testing certificate OR military ballistics training strongly preferred 5+ Years of experience WORKING CONDITIONS: Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. General office or test lab environment with exposure to sudden, loud noises The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
