Applied AI Engineer (Python/AI)

About the Opportunity:The Applied AI Engineer role focuses on building and expanding AI-driven features within a production SaaS platform, particularly enhancing the AI Coach experience. The position involves practical application of generative AI, working alongside product managers and engineers to develop user-facing AI functionalities. This role contributes to delivering impactful AI features in a fintech environment and emphasizes thoughtful use of AI to improve development and product reliability.3. Responsibilities:• Develop and enhance AI-powered product features collaboratively with product and engineering teams• Design and refine prompts to optimize AI response quality and feature performance• Create Python-based services and APIs to support AI workflows• Manage structured data in PostgreSQL and vector-based systems underpinning AI applications• Implement features within FastAPI-based systems• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost engineering productivity and refine implementations• Engage in technical discussions on feature design and implementation4. Requirements:• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience• Strong proficiency in Python development• Experience with AI-powered coding tools (preference for Anthropic's Claude Code)• Background in building backend services or APIs• Familiarity with LLM APIs, generative AI services, or AI-enabled application capabilities• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills• Effective collaboration in cross-functional teamsNice to Have:• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks• Knowledge of prompt evaluation or LLM testing methods• Experience integrating AI into production SaaS platforms• Background in fintech or B2B SaaS5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:• Estimated annual base salary range: $125,000 to $155,000, dependent on qualifications, experience, and location• Eligibility for annual performance bonus• Equity participation• Comprehensive benefits package6.
