3rd Shift - Production Team Leader
Production Team Leader The Production Team Leader oversees a third-shift production team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role combines hands-on mechanical assembly work with leadership responsibilities, including coaching team members, maintaining workflow, and driving continuous improvement. The Production Team Leader supports cross-functional communication, ensures accurate production reporting, and helps build a positive, collaborative work environment. Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 6–10 production employees, with the potential for team growth as customer demand increases. Maintain staff effectiveness by orienting new employees, providing training, and supporting ongoing development and growth opportunities. Perform hands-on mechanical assembly of food manufacturing equipment using air and hand tools, including screwdrivers, drills, and tape measures. Work with CNC brake press and punch press machines and learn to operate all machines and processes required on third shift. Assemble small-scale products to be shipped to end users, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. Effectively communicate with other departments and shifts to coordinate work, share updates, and resolve issues promptly. Maintain workflow by monitoring each step of the process, ensuring materials flow smoothly to the next operation, and aligning personnel and resources as needed. Foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork within the department and between shifts to support overall production goals. Maintain product quality by establishing, following, and enforcing organizational standards and procedures. Oversee and ensure that all production data is properly recorded, including identifying scrap and capturing downtime accurately. Identify root causes of production or quality issues and work through practical solutions to prevent recurrence. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by promoting safe work practices and ensuring housekeeping standards are met. Review and approve weekly timecards and PTO requests in an accurate and timely manner. Provide regular feedback on employee performance to support development, accountability, and recognition. Utilize computer systems and software to support production tracking, reporting, and communication as required. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hicksville, OH.
