Position: Middle School Math TeacherReports to: Head of SchoolMember of: Math FacultySalary range:  $45,500 - $63,000  Start Date: August 10, 2026Duties:Teach Middle School math. This full-time position requires a background and expertise in algebra foundations, pre- algebra, and algebra I. In addition to instructional responsibilities, the teacher will participate in the school mentoring program and co-curricular activities and continue working on professional growth.Candidates should have a passion for engaging girls in mathematical problem-solving, a growth mindset, and the ability to contribute to a strong Math program and Math department.Math Department Philosophy:  Students should be able to analyze a problem, propose a solution, and communicate the process using math concepts and academic language, both verbally and in writing.  Coursework is designed to stimulate curiosity and exploration.  Students cultivate self-sufficiency and self-esteem as they persevere through challenging problems. They utilize modern tools and technology to answer questions. The Mathematics Department employs diverse pedagogical methods, including repetition, timed testing, pair work, manipulation tools, and math games. Teachers utilize classroom computers for exploration and demonstration, further integrating technology into instruction. Students’ math skills are fostered through a growth mindset by encouraging reading, allowing mistakes, and providing many reviews. Additional support for outside professional development is available.Communicate with parents at Back-to-School Night, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and via email, phone, or in-person meetings.Serve as a mentor to 3-5 students. Collaborate with a team of teachers to lead a homeroom.Participate in school traditions.Teachers are welcome to support student life as club moderators and sports coaches.Support the admissions office with school visitors and open houses.Uphold school policies and perform other job responsibilities as requested. Teacher Qualifications:According to its mission and vision, Willows Academy is an all-female teaching and learning environment.
