We will provide value to our employees through craft training programs, competitive benefits and a safe work environment and value to the local community with outstanding project quality and opportunity for employment and training programs.The Safety Inspector will provide site safety leadership, ensure compliance with company safety standards, implement safety directives, improve safety performance, and ensure Company safety policies and procedures are aligned with federal, state, and local regulations.ResponsibilitiesInspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee complianceLiaise with external parties such as government-employed inspectors to evaluate the process of construction sitesWork with project management teams and field workers to implement and device solutions to safety-related issues on project sitesPreparing and conducting safety training sessions for employees and vendorsLeading injury and incident inquiries and evaluationsDemonstrate good organizational, planning and time management skillsHelp detects deficiencies and addressed deficiencies in a timely and effective mannerResponsible for preparing and submitting all regulatory reports in a timely mannerTrain company employees on safe work practices and emergency proceduresOther duties and tasks as necessary and/or assigned to effectively carry out job responsibilities and maximize the effectiveness of this position.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesTake reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibilityWorking knowledge of Word and ExcelRead, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures.Write daily reports and document project activitiesCalculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference and volume.Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting.Requires the ability to communicate clearly and interface effectively with a diverse group of field level employees.Experience/Qualifications4 years post-secondary education preferred, Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education3-5 years of progressive field safety experience in the construction fieldOSHA30 certificationOSHA500 Authorization highly recommendedFirst Aid/ CPR/AED Instructor Certification preferredMust possess a valid Driver LicenseWork EnvironmentRegularly exposed to outside weather conditionsExposure to moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrationNoise levels in the work environment is usually loudAbility to wear and work in personnel protective equipment including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, ankle-supporting safety-toed work boots and a safety vestPhysical DemandsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Extensive moving or positioning heavy weighted materials (up to 50 lbs.).Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.Must be able to bend, stoop, and ascend/descend to reach materials or enter heavy equipment.The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.ASN Constructors and all its affiliate companies are proud to be Equal Opportunity Employers.
