No matter where your talents lie, join us and discover how we can advance health together.Duke Health Integrated Practiceus/en/dhipDuke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina.Job Location:Duke South Durham Infusion - 234 Crooked Creek Pkwy, Durham, NC 27713Job Summary:We are seeking aCLINICAL NURSEforDuke South Durham Infusionlocated inDurham, NCto be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, provide and document professional nursing care utilizing Maestro Care. Document nursing care provided and communicate appropriate nursing action taken and patient response to infusion in accordance with physician orders, policies and therapy plans.Administer infusion medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols following the six rights of medication administration.Assess patient throughout infusion and post monitoring for any signs/symptoms of infusion reaction and treat appropriately.Obtains IV access; Performs blood draws for labs as needed.Reviews patient therapy plan for present orders and valid authorization weeklyPerform patient education when neededStock and maintains inventory of patient care supplies.Mix and prepare infusion medications under protocol when pharmacy is unavailable/afterhours.Identifies clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities, make recommendations for nursing care plans and participates in performance improvement projects.Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations.Attends safety huddle, staff meetings and in-services.Other duties as delegated by nurse manager, provider, or health center administratorJob Eligibility Requirements:Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hireBLS and ACLS is required.Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking during 10hr shift with the ability to move or lift at least fifty pounds.Previous experience in an infusion care setting preferredExperience with Epic preferred or other computerized charting system preferredJob Schedule:The schedule for this position is weekday 4-10 hour day shifts with 1 Saturday per month.
