Operates equipment and performs job- related duties in a safe manner at all timesPatient Care/Clinical Responsibilities: Verifies the patients identity and the procedure to be performed, verifies informed consent has been obtained when required. Explains the procedure to the patient to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation. Regularly confers with Radiologists. Understands the different roles within the ultrasound department and - has the ability to work in all roles effectively. Copes with emergent situations, respects confidentiality of patient records, and performs procedures in a professional manner.(ultrasound)Performs Admin/Clerical functions, including Patient Throughput: Regularly reports "free-time" to team leader, asks for additional work assignments, and volunteers to assist in other areas of the department. Participates in the hospital process improvement recommendation program.Provide optimum customer service, cordially greets customers and assists patient to procedure destination and coordinates transportation of outpatients and inpatients.Technical Competence/Performance/Sterile Technique: Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify record and adapt procedures as appropriate anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information on images. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the performance of routine and interventional Ultrasound procedures including ultrasound guidance. Demonstrates knowledge and competency in the use of standard Ultrasound - equipment. Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. Analyses sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate physician. Is able to complete all prescribed vascular and non-vascular exams meeting departmental standards.
