This unique role blends private at-home tutoring in Language Arts and Reading with supplementary support from a mid-day microschool in Sunnyvale. The ideal candidate must be dedicated to creating an engaging, project-based learning environment tailored to neurodiverse needs.Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction: Deliver directive teaching in Language Arts and Reading, utilizing an appropriate blend of tangible, sensory-driven, and project-based methods in both inside and outside environments.Logistics: Drive the children to their microschool in Sunnyvale mid-day.Curriculum: Dedicate afternoon hours to curriculum research, preparation, and material development.Assessment & Enrichment: Conduct regular assessments of student progress and actively introduce resources in the community to enhance the children's well-rounded education.Advocacy: Provide one-on-one academic support tailored to the children's specific learning styles.Qualifications & RequirementsSpecialized Expertise: Must have extensive experience in educating children with neurodiverse profiles, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia. Preference for educators with Orton-Gillingham training. Must be proficient with the following:phonemic awarenessdecoding and encodingspelling rules and orthographyhandwriting and written expressionmultisensory instructionexecutive functioning supportmorphology and syntaxdiagnostic/prescriptive teaching methodswritten expression remediationfine motor/writing supportCommitment: Must be willing to commit to the full one-year term from August 2026 to May 2027.Teaching Style: Proven ability to implement flexible, creative, and hands-on teaching methods.Logistics: Possess a clean driving record and comfortable managing the transportation of children.
