Outpatient Coding Supervisor (remote)

What You Will DoAssists coders, compliant documentation management staff, and the Internal Revenue Integrity team with complex patient care cases by analyzing documentation and discussing correct code assignment. Reviews medical records flagged through the SMART (Inpatient and Outpatient tools) software for patterns of coding errors and opportunities for coder and/or clinical education. Serves as a technical expert/resource for department manager, staff, physicians, administrative, and external customers to provide information or clarification on accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by management. What You Will NeedUniversity Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (experience may substitute for formal education or an advanced degree) Currently certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Strong outpatient coding background at a senior level, including coding of outpatient/inpatient charts as well as data management and coder audit and education experience Must maintain credential throughout employment What Would Be Nice to HaveExperience working with EPIC, Cerner, Next Gen, Allscripts, or any other EHR Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology What We OfferGuidehouse offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package that reflects our commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.
