Job DescriptionJob SummaryCEC Controls is looking for a engineering systems designer who can perform the design of controls systems from start to finish, including troubleshooting, field startup and commissioning related to implementation in the automotive and manufacturing industries. Experience in industries related to automotive are a priority. This position will be assigned to the Warren, MI office site however there will be opportunities to work from home. Site presence will be expected during commissioning and standby phases.Responsibilities:Performing Design of Automation control systems, requirements which will include:Review specifications and standard practicesFollow internal and customer standards as requiredEstablishing non-standard logic and designs as requiredCreate system map layouts, sequence of operations, drawing packages, write PLC logic, and develop HMI screensWrite and edit PLC programs including: I/O mapping, network diagnostics, conveyor control, routing and tracking, HMI FIS and IIOT fault messages and moreAble to self-check PLC programs, such as verify all I/O is used, step by step conveyor sequence is correctSpecify panel and field material by creating Electrical Bill of Material's (EBMS's)Work with Management and Project Management to develop and maintain scheduleAttend meetings with some interaction with customersField duties and responsibilities include:Assisting in installation oversightStart-up and Debug at customers facilitiesExperience with VFD/Motor tuning, torque proving and point to point operation is a plusLaunch support and Standby support (post commissioning)Work with project managementRequirements:Education: Relevant bachelor’s or associate degree in related engineering or technology field, or equivalent relevant work experience with a technical degree.1+ years of industry experience working for a systems integrator; must include control panel and circuit designnon-standard designs, system map layouts, sequence of operations, reviewing cycle time, studies and dimension switch layoutsdesign packages, write logic, develop HMI screen and commission your designKnowledge of system architecture, including non-standard material, control panel power requirements and/or distributionCapable of reviewing the specifications and standard practices (internal hardwired and logic standards, general specifications and scope of work)Capable of reviewing the specifications and standard practices (internal hardwired and logic standards, general specifications and scope of work)Technical knowledge and skills required:RSLogix 5, 5000RS NetworxDriveExecutive, DirveExplorerPanelBuilder PDS, 1400e, 32RSView Studio and Factory TalkTechnical knowledge desired:Technical knowledge considered an asset:Ford NextGen or GVOSS standards, GM G12 standardsMicrosoft Office SuiteCapable of assisting with installation and debugging with no additional supportAbility to work independently and in a team atmosphereAbility to travelAuthorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship form CEC Controls.Physical Requirements:Able to climb a 2-story ladderCan walk a mile in 20 minutesBe able to cover, on foot, a reasonable distance on a job siteAble to lift up to 30lbs without difficultyAll of the above items to be accomplished while carrying a laptop computerCompany DescriptionCEC Controls Company, Inc.
