Successful outcomes start and finish with eNGINE.eNGINE is hiring an a skilled Database Administrator to own the health, performance, and security of our SQL Server environments. This is a hands-on role where your work directly supports the data infrastructure that clinical and analytics teams rely on every day. You'll partner closely across Engineering and Analytics to keep things running smoothly — and to make them better over time.What You'll Do:Manage and maintain SQL Server databases across on-prem and Azure environments, including Always On Availability Groups for high availability and disaster recovery. You'll handle backups, restores, and recovery procedures, and take ownership of performance optimization through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.You'll also collaborate with application and analytics teams on deployments, schema changes, and data integrity — following structured change management processes and keeping documentation and runbooks current. Compliance matters here: you'll help ensure our environments meet HIPAA and data governance requirements.What You Bring5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience in on-prem and/or Azure environmentsDeep familiarity with performance tuning, high availability, and backup/recovery strategiesExperience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Redgate, SQL Profiler, or SolarWinds DPASolid grasp of security principles and access managementStrong communication skills and a collaborative approach to cross-team workBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experienceThe main changes: tightened the opening to speak to the candidate rather than just describe the role, reorganized responsibilities into narrative paragraphs (easier to read than a wall of bullets), and made the qualifications list scannable without feeling like a checklist.
