Vice President - Insurance Solutions and Asset Management Controller

Our client, a leading global alternatives firm, is seeking a Controller to join its Insurance Innovation Investment team. In this role, you will focus less on traditional controllership responsibilities and more on managing the end-to-end operational and regulatory lifecycle of insurance-focused investments.This is a critical position that serves as a bridge between investment teams, insurance clients, and internal operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in onboarding, complex reporting, and supporting new investment opportunities.The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in insurance investment accounting and regulatory frameworks. In addition to day-to-day execution, this individual will drive process innovation and leverage technology to scale operations effectively.Requirements6+ years of experience in the insurance sector or related fields, with demonstrated expertise in managing the operational, regulatory, and reporting requirements unique to insurance-focused investment portfoliosExperience with insurance investment accounting processes and procedures including GAAP/SAP reporting requirementsStrong knowledge of various asset classes; more specifically asset-based credit, direct lending, and mortgage loansUnderstanding of the regulatory and accounting treatment across complex structures, including SMAs, CLOs, Limited Partnerships, and other private fund vehiclesProficient experience with investment accounting and portfolio management platforms such as Clearwater, and AladdinDemonstrated ability to build relationships with portfolio managers, operations teams, finance teams, and external stakeholdersAdditional info:Hybrid schedule: four days in-office, one day remoteCompensation will be aligned with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
