Platform Engineer

Job OverviewDesign, implement, integrate, and maintain systems and tools to automate complex cyber activities. Apply specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance, and review or guide activities of junior employees.Required Qualifications3+ years of experience administering Kubernetes clusters in production environmentsExperience with Helm charts, Kustomize, or Operators for deploying and managing applications on KubernetesExperience with GitOps workflows using tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, or GitLab CI/CD for infrastructure and application deliveryExperience with Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes (ECK) or deploying or managing stateful applications on KubernetesExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure-as-code deploymentsExperience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus or Grafana, for platform health and SLA dashboardsKnowledge of Linux systems administration and container troubleshooting, including logs, networking, and resource constraintsAbility to identify, prioritize, and remediate technical debt across platform environments such as refactoring, dependency upgrades, and deprecated API migration, and work on-site at the designated location per program requirementsSecret clearanceHS diploma or GEDPreferred QualificationsExperience deploying and upgrading ECK Operators and managing Elasticsearch or Kibana custom resources in KubernetesExperience with Platform One Big Bang or Iron Bank hardened container workflows in a DoD environmentExperience with GitLab self-hosted administration, including runners, pipelines, merge request automation, and repository managementExperience automating dashboard generation or reporting such as Grafana-as-code, Kibana saved objects API, or scripted dashboard provisioningExperience with multi-classification or air-gapped deployment patterns such as IL5/IL6, artifact mirroring, and offline registriesExperience with Istio, Linkerd, or similar service mesh technologies for mTLS and traffic managementExperience with DAST, SAST, or container scanning integrated into GitOps pipelines such as RMF or ATO compliance automationExperience with Vault, SOPS, or sealed-secrets for secrets management in GitOps workflowsExperience running cost and resource optimization on Kubernetes such as right-sizing, HPA/VPA tuning, and node pool strategy for stateful workloads like ElasticsearchTS/SCI clearanceClearanceApplicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.CompensationSalary range: $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD).
