Job DescriptionRole: Lead Power Electronics EngineerIndustry: Gas TurbinesLocation: San Francisco, CA (5 days onsite)Salary: Competitive + Significant Equity + Relocation AssistanceWe are exclusively partnered with a venture-backed engineering company developing next-generation power generation technology.As the company scales, they’re looking for a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to own high-voltage DC power electronics and motor/generator integration from specification through prototype and testing. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to build out the power electronics function as the company grows.*visa sponsorships can't be provided for this roleResponsibilitiesOwn the high-voltage DC power electronics architecture and development.Specify and integrate the motor/generator, power electronics and controls.Take hardware from design and specification through prototype, integration and testing.Evaluate suppliers and components and make key buy-vs-build decisions.Personally build, wire, integrate and troubleshoot hardware.Help bring currently outsourced engineering capabilities in-house.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.4+ years of power electronics experience.Strong high-voltage DC power electronics experience.Hands-on experience with motors, generators or electric machines.Experience with SiC and/or GaN MOSFETs / wide-bandgap semiconductors.Experience physically building, wiring, integrating and testing hardware.Experience taking power electronics systems through to a working prototype.Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving engineering environment.Nice to HavesEV powertrain/drivetrain or power electronics experience.Formula E, electric motorsport or high-performance electric motor experience.Electric machine design experience.Control systems or embedded software experience.DC fast-charging experience.Why Apply?Join at an early stage with significant equity upside.Backed by leading venture capital and deep-tech investors.Opportunity to build the power electronics function as the company scales.Hit "Apply Now" for further details if you meet the criteria above, or send your resume directly to a.michaels@harperharrison.com.
