Real Estate Pre-Closer
Position Overview:McLain & Merritt, P.C. is seeking a full-time Residential Pre-Closer with 3+ years of experience in pre-closing at a law firm. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously. Businesses and individuals choose McLain & Merritt because we are committed to developing lasting relationships with clients who can count on the collective experience, exceptional expertise and outstanding skills of our attorneys.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all steps of the preclosing process for residential real estate deals, ensuring accuracy and timely completionPrepare and review critical preclosing documentation, including title commitments, closing disclosures (CDs), settlement statements, escrow instructions, and power of attorney documentsOrder and review title examinations, surveys, HOA estoppel letters, payoff statements, utility bills, and tax information, proactively identifying and resolving title issues in collaboration with the title attorneyCalculate estimated property taxes, including those for newly constructed homes using county-specific millage ratesInput and update transaction data in SoftPro closing software, maintaining accurate and complete records throughout the lifecycle of each fileMaintain and manage detailed transaction checklists, calendars, and timelines to ensure on-track closingsServe as a central point of contact for all transaction parties—coordinating with the closing manager, closers, clients, real estate agents, lenders, and loan processors to collect necessary information and keep all stakeholders informedSchedule closings and ensure all preclosing conditions are met in advanceQualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate preclosing, with a strong preference for law firm backgroundMust be available to work full time, on-site at our Buckhead office in Atlanta, GeorgiaIn-depth knowledge of title and escrow processesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced in using closing software, particularly SoftPro SelectHighly adaptable and flexible—comfortable navigating shifting priorities and transactional complexitiesTeam-oriented and people-focused, with excellent communication skills and a customer service mindsetBenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experience level, plus potential for significant bi-annual bonusMedical, dental, and vision insurance plans401(k) retirement planLife and disability InsurancePaid vacation and sick days
