SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Special Services and Site Leader(s), the Speech/Language Pathologist assists in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students, the Speech/Language Pathologist must work closely with the staff and administration of the school district.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of studentsProvide therapy, follow-up, and/or consultation based on student IEPsConduct speech, language, and hearing screenings and diagnostic evaluations to determine the need for clinical servicesProvides research-based, specialized instruction to address the instructional goals and objectives contained within each student's IEPAssesses student progress and determines the need for additional IEP reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniquesSchedule special education meetings and work cooperatively with child study team members and others in developing instructional goals and strategiesCoordinates the delivery of special education services in each student's IEPServes as the primary contact for the parent, general education teachers, and other service providers regarding speech servicesComplies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulationsCompletes all district and state reporting requirementsPerforms other comparable duties of a like or similar nature, apparent or as assignedParticipate as a team member in the comprehensive evaluation, review, and reevaluation processMaintain appropriate, confidential records and provide timely reportsOrder and maintain an adequate inventory of materials and suppliesKeep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniquesOther duties as assigned by the Director of Special EducationStandards and Quality AssuranceBe capable of physically assisting students with special needs as required (positioning, lifting, transferring, restraining, etc.)Demonstrate the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with othersBehave and speak in a professional manner at all timesSet a good example in terms of dress, punctuality, and attendanceAttend staff and team meetingsBe proactive in matters relating to health and safetyHave the willingness to assume any responsibilities appropriate for the positionSupport the mission statement of the districtQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMaster's degree from an accredited college/universityCurrent Oklahoma State Teaching CertificateCurrent Oklahoma Speech Pathologist LicenseSalary and BenefitsSalary based on OKCPS salary schedule plus 5% based on 190 day contractInsurance- health, dental, and vision paid for contract employee401K- 7% based on total compensation starting after 6 months of employment10 days PTO
