Sheet Metal Worker
Job DescriptionJob duties may include:Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal productsMeasure, mark dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators, and squaresSelect gauges and types of sheet metal or non-metallic material, according to product specificationsInstall assemblies, such as flashing, pipes, tubes, heating and air conditioning ducts, furnace casings, rain gutters, and down spouts, in supportive frameworksSelect gauges and types of sheet metal or non-metallic material, according to product specificationsFasten seams and joints together to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will lastUse hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearanceFabricate or alter parts at construction sites as neededMaintain equipment, making repairs and modifications when necessaryFollow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe mannerPerforms other related duties as assignedAbility to follow instructions from supervisors and foremenOn-the-job training offeredThis position is safety-sensitive.RequirementsMust be at least 18 years oldAbility to perform basic mathAble to withstand prolonged periods standing and working outsidePhysically able to perform assigned tasksMust be able to lift 40 pounds at a timeMust have reliable transportation
