Schedule: 3p-11:30p Position Purpose: As a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform preventive maintenance on trailers, tractors, and yard tractors, diagnosing and repairing medium to heavy-duty refrigerated trucks and trailers. Essential Functions: Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and general repairs Diagnose and repair air and hydraulic brake systems, including ABS Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs Repair liftgate systems and fabricate as needed Diagnose drivelines, steering, and suspensions Maintain accurate repair order entries and time accountability in the RTA Maintenance Program Perform tire and wheel end maintenance Ensure quality work and production efficiency Mentor junior mechanics to enhance their skills Complete other relevant duties as required Job Requirements: Experience: Preferred 2 years of mechanical experience or technical training with 1 year of experience Tools: Must have all necessary hand tools Driving Experience: Preferred experience in driving/moving Class A equipment Certifications: Tire and wheel, brakes, HVAC, and FHWA DOT Inspections preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to repair brakes, rear doors, air systems, and electrical systems with minimal supervision Strong teamwork and independent work skills Valid driver's license and must be 21 years of age or older Physical Environment/Demands: Regularly required to stand, sit, and use hands for various tasks Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform repetitive movements Exposure to temperatures ranging from 20 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit Manual dexterity and coordination required for working at various heights and in confined spaces UNFI is an Equal Opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for all.
