POSITION DETAILSWorking under the direction of the Communications Publications Editorial Manager, the Publications Design Coordinator will be responsible for designing and producing an extensive variety of print materials, web-based communications, and promotional items for the College. Projects include out-of-home billboards and kiosks, brochures, reports, invitations, flyers, programs, catalogs, banners, photo displays, business cards, stationery, posters, job postings, journal ads, and other materials. Provides project oversight of design and publication projects to ensure consistency with the College’s brand identity, design standards, and strategic communications goals. Develop and implement College branding by training all departments on uniform brand guidelines; create and maintain standardized templates for official communications and materials; and monitor and oversee campus wide compliance with required branding. Assists with coordination, communication, and implementation of departmental activities. Plans, coordinates, and oversees photography and image development activities, including directing edits and ensuring assets meet project and branding requirements. Evaluates project needs and makes professional recommendations regarding paper stock, formats, and production methods. Proposes comprehensive print specifications in support of institutional procurement and competitive bidding processes. Works closely with the College’s Purchasing Office to facilitate and support printing bids and related procurement activities. Serves as the primary departmental liaison with the College’s Print Shop, overseeing timelines, quality standards, and project deliverables. Coordinates with the College’s Multimedia Center to oversee photography and video services, ensuring multimedia assets align with institutional communications initiatives. Other duties as requiredQualificationsBachelor’s degree required (preferably in art, design, or related field) and a minimum of four years of experience required, with a wide-ranging portfolio of work. Strong knowledge of typography as well as applications including Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (Mac platform). Knowledge of web-based design, including work with html templates. Proven ability to work on multiple tasks under tight deadlines and to work both independently and as part of a creative team in a collegial atmosphere. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including proofreading, grammatical usage, and spelling.
