WORSHIP LEADER / DIRECTORPosition SummaryThis part time position is a vital part of the ministry team at Ferry Memorial ReformedChurch. This position prefers candidates with musical and/or theological education andexperience in worship ministry. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership,organizational skills, and musical ability to enrich our worship services and foster growthwithin our church and community.Core CompetenciesThe Worship Coordinator should demonstrate the ability to: Lead and direct congregational singing along with the praise team. Manage rehearsal and performance schedules of musical and technicalvolunteers to include Praise Team and other musical groups. Coordinate the worship ministry with the calendar and seasonal emphasesof the church (ex: Palm Sunday, Easter, Advent, Christmas, and others). Work well in a ministry team environment with the Senior Pastor and thePastor of Youth and Families as well as lay volunteer participants/leadersin the worship ministry. Develop presentation slides for services. Be proficient in, or be willing to learn, the operation of audio/visualequipment, and provide training for new volunteers. Identify and procure necessary musical materials, instruments, andaudio/visual equipment to support the church’s programs. Identify and develop the gifts of others for worship ministry. Provide guidance and support for special projects, ministries, and churchactivities related to musical needs. Assist with arranging weekly worship services by attending staff meetings.Hours, Education, And ExperienceThe ideal candidate will work 15-20 hours per week (some remote hours negotiable)with a preferred degree in music, theology or a related field at an accredited college oruniversity. The candidate must have experience leading worship in a church setting.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesThe qualified individual must have a deep understanding of the responsibilities andexpectations of worship ministry in a leadership role and be able to create anenvironment where people can experience a deepening relationship with God andGod’s people. The ability to identify and develop gifts in others is crucial. Additionally,they are expected to lead by example, demonstrating an exemplary Christian lifestyle.COMPENSATION$20-25/hour, depending upon education and experience.
