A leading, multi-state hospice organization is seeking an experienced, field-driven clinical leader to serve as a Regional Director of Clinical Excellence.
This position supports multiple hospice programs across the Midwest through onsite coaching, process reinforcement, and quality oversight.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned hospice RN leader who thrives in the field, has strong knowledge of hospice regulations and documentation standards, and enjoys partnering with local leaders to elevate clinical quality and team consistency.
This is a highly visible, hands-on position with significant travel and autonomy.
What You’ll Do
Support local hospice branches in maintaining consistent clinical processes, education, and documentation standards.
Provide field-based mentoring and coaching to nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members.
Reinforce adherence to hospice Conditions of Participation (CoPs) and internal clinical standards.
Lead and participate in QAPI reviews, IDG accountability, and quality improvement initiatives.
Review performance data, identify trends, and partner with branch leaders to develop corrective action plans.
Assist programs in maintaining survey readiness, including mock surveys, chart reviews, and compliance follow-up.
Collaborate with regional compliance and QA teams to sustain regulatory excellence.
Serve as a clinical expert for documentation, eligibility, and symptom management.
Promote a culture of education, accountability, and continuous improvement across all sites.
Position Scope
Field-based position covering multiple hospice programs across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa.
Approximately 80% travel (Monday–Thursday) with Friday remote for administrative and QAPI work.
Works collaboratively with local and regional leadership teams; no direct line authority over field staff.
Qualifications
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (multi-state preferred)
Minimum 3 years of hospice leadership, quality, or education experience
Comprehensive understanding of hospice CoPs, QAPI processes, and documentation standards
Skilled in Home Care Home Base (HCHB) and Microsoft 365
Strong communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
