Senior AccountantCompany: SaltCoLocation: In-Office – 840 Community Drive, Sauk City, WI 53583Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000Benefits: Health, Dental, 401K, Health Club MembershipSaltCo is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a critical role in managing and strengthening the financial foundation of a rapidly growing organization. This is not a back-office role. This position is responsible for owning day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and speed across all financial processes. This is a highly hands-on role with full ownership of the books, including transactional processing, reconciliations, and month-end close. Beyond execution, the right candidate will bring structure, discipline, and continuous improvement to our financial operations—identifying inefficiencies and building more scalable, efficient processes as we grow. You’ll work directly with leadership, gain visibility into the full business, and help build systems that support long-term growth—not just maintain the status quo. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of operating independently, while also stepping into a leadership role as the company grows. This role is designed to evolve into an Accounting Manager within 9–12 months, based on performance, ownership, and the ability to improve processes—not just maintain them.Key Responsibilities:Cash Management & BankingApply daily cash receipts (20–25+ transactions per day)Perform daily bank reconciliations across multiple accountsMaintain accurate visibility into company cash positionAccounts PayableManage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice entry and vendor paymentsReconcile corporate credit card transactionsMaintain vendor documentation (W-9s) and prepare annual 1099 filingsInventory ManagementTrack and manage inventory across multiple categories, including equipment and materialsConduct monthly inventory verifications with internal teams and third-party partnersEnsure accurate reporting and valuation of inventory assetsPayroll & Benefits AdministrationProcess bi-weekly payroll and maintain employee recordsManage benefits, deductions, and PTO trackingRecord payroll-related journal entries and support 401(k) complianceSales Tax & CompliancePrepare and file multi-state sales tax returnsMonitor economic nexus thresholds as the company expandsGeneral Ledger & Financial ReportingMaintain the general ledger across all business unitsPrepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and reconciliationsLead the monthly close processPrepare and deliver financial statements to leadershipCoordinate with external CPA firm on tax filings and complianceAdditional ResponsibilitiesEnsure accurate accounting for new installations and revenue recognitionAssist with collections efforts as neededMonitor billing communications and resolve discrepanciesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of full-cycle accountingExperience with inventory accounting preferredProficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar systemsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWhat Success Looks LikeAccurate and timely monthly closeClean, reliable financial reportingClear visibility into cash flowStrong, scalable accounting processesWhy Join SaltCoSaltCo is a rapidly growing company focused on innovation within the water treatment and logistics industries.
