Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:Engineer network using equipment utilizing Sonet, DACS, multiplexing, DWDM and synchronization technologiesEngineer network to accommodate voice, video and data services including TDM, ATM, Frame Relay, ADSL and Internet servicesPrepare work orders and material requisitions for all transport projectsCoordinate with contractors, field operations and other engineering disciplines for implementing all transport projectsBuild and maintain records of transport infrastructure and equipment in appropriate databases (ASAP, JCARS)Engineer according to company and industry standardsQualificationsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Electronics trade school graduate combined with 1 years Telecommunications2 Years Telecommunications experience1-2 Years of Detail Engineering experience or customer support experienceLANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the Company.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
