Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Type: Travel Profession: LPN/LVN Specialty: Long-Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Evening Hours per Shift: 8 hours Start Date: 06/22/2026 End Date: 08/31/2026 Weekly Pay: $1739 - $1830 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience required; preference for 2 years of experience. License: Valid LPN License Certifications: BLS required; IV Certification and Phlebotomy Certification preferred. Must-Have: Prior long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience. Description: The facility has 100 resident beds, including 96 semi-private beds and 4 private beds across 2 floors. There are no locked units; dementia and Alzheimer's patients wear a tracker that locks the door if they approach. The facility utilizes an electronic medical record system in conjunction with paper charting. Staffing ratios are approximately 1 LPN to 17-20 residents. In the House Supervisor role, the LPN may oversee the entire facility. Common diagnoses among patients include diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, post-stroke conditions, heart disease, fractures, dementia, Alzheimer's, rehabilitation, and multiple comorbidities. Job duties include medication administration, vital signs monitoring, blood sugar checks and management, wound care, ostomy care, Foley catheter management, tube feeding administration, and assisting other team members. Occasional IV antibiotics may be administered, and there may be potential for PICC line management. Respiratory treatments and equipment, including CPAP and nasal cannula, must be managed by LPNs and RNs. Medications are dispensed in bubble packs, with a house stock of generic medications available. The schedule is prepared six weeks in advance, and staff are encouraged to be flexible in filling gaps in permanent staffing. Every other weekend is required, and holiday work may be requested. Staff may float between either floor as needed. Professional attire is required, with no large earrings, jewelry, or fake nails; hair must be secured.
